The Ancient city of Fiesole is
full of archeologically treasures from its Roman Past, and I
found on the beautiful rolling Florentine hills. It is here
where the Villa Aurors is found, among the century old
cypress trees and the old ruins of the once upon a time theatre
built by Sir W.B.
Spence. After gathering at the theatre, the wealthy English Lord
chose to entertain his visitors and the other members of the
“walking Men’s Club” who would come up to his villa on foot from
their nearby homes.
It was here they would be invited to snacks at the “Hosteria”
This well known tavern was at that time already a landmark. It
was during this time it was named “L'Aurora” because of
its prized fresco done by Guido Reni decorating the façade of
the theatre. |
